Abdominal obesity (male waist >40 in, female waist >35 in)

Triglycerides ≥150 mg/dL or on TG lowering treatment

HDL cholesterol (male <40 mg/dL, female <50 mg/dL) or on HDL improvement treatment

Blood pressure ≥130 / ≥85 mmHg or on BP treatment

Fasting glucose ≥100 mg/dL or on glucose lowering treatment

A set of criteria used to help clinicians to diagnose metabolic syndrome based on blood pressure, HDL cholesterol, triglycerides and glucose.

Criteria for Clinical Diagnosis of Metabolic Syndrome: Measure (any 3 of 5 constitute diagnosis of metabolic syndrome), Categorical Cutpoints - Elevated waist circumference: ≥102 cm (≥40 inches) in men, ≥88 cm (≥35 inches) in women - Elevated triglycerides: ≥150 mg/dL (1.7 mmol/L) or On drug treatment for elevated triglycerides - Reduced HDL-C: <40 mg/dL (1.03 mmol/L) in men <50 mg/dL (1.3 mmol/L) in women or On drug treatment for reduced HDL-C - Elevated blood pressure: ≥130 mm Hg systolic blood pressure or ≥85 mm Hg diastolic blood pressure or On antihypertensive drug treatment in a patient with a history of hypertension - Elevated fasting glucose: ≥100 mg/dL or On drug treatment for elevated glucose
