Mean Arterial Pressure (MAP) is the average pressure in a patient’s arteries during one cardiac cycle. It is influenced by cardiac output and systemic vascular resistance and plays a critical role in ensuring adequate blood perfusion to tissues, maintaining their functionality.
To calculate MAP using systolic blood pressure and diastolic blood pressure.
MAP is calculated using the formula: MAP = (Systolic Blood Pressure + (2 × Diastolic Blood Pressure)) / 3.
This calculation is an estimate. For more accurate measurement use a different guideline.
