To calculate the Detsky cardiac risk index.

Use to calculate the Detsky cardiac risk index. The result is based on the addition of 8 parameters: myocardial infarction, Canadian cardiovascular society angina, pulmonary edema, valvular disease, arrhythmias, general medical conditions, operation and age. Each of the 8 items in the Detsky cardiac risk index is weighted according to its individual predictive value. The sum of points awarded to each item, as described in the previous section, makes the total score, which ranges between 0 and 85. The 4 risk classes linked to the Detsky scores and their associated risk of complications in percentage: Detsky score: Class type: Complication risk: 0 - 5 Class I 6% 6 - 12 Class II 7% 13 - 25 Class III 20% ≥26 Class IV 100%
